Window and Door Glass Manufacturer
Every window and door on a building depends on one component doing its job quietly for decades: the glass itself. At PFG Glass, we manufacture insulating and safety glass for window and door manufacturers and large glazing contractors across Western Canada. Our Langley facility gives us the equipment and certifications to produce window and door glass in volume.

What We Manufacture
Our production runs from monolithic flat glass through fully assembled insulating glass units. We cut, edge, drill, and notch glass to the dimensions on your order, then route it to heat treatment, heat soaking, lamination, or IGU assembly, depending on what the specification calls for. Double- and triple-pane units leave our facility with Low-E coatings and warm-edge spacers, filled with argon or air as ordered. Where an order calls for tempered or laminated safety glass, patterned and privacy glass, ceramic frit, or ceramic spandrel panels, we fabricate those in-house rather than sending the work to a third party.
Ordered to Your Specification
Vancouver follows its own building by-law, so glass that satisfies the code in Langley or Abbotsford may fall short there. We also rarely know where or how a finished unit will be installed. Because of that, our scope ends at manufacturing to your specification, and checking the glass against the application and the local code falls to you.
Our returning customers already work this way, since they know their projects and local requirements better than we could. Send us a clear specification listing dimensions, quantities, glass makeup, and finish details, and we will build to it.
What Window and Door Specifications Typically Cover
British Columbia updated its safety glazing requirements in 2024. The current code calls for Class A safety glazing conforming to CAN/CGSB-12.1 in individual fixed or operable door and window panels, with narrow exceptions for panels positioned well above the walking surface or openings too small to pass a large sphere. We manufacture tempered and laminated safety glass, and which panels need it is for your project team to confirm.
Insulating glass units are commonly measured against CAN/CGSB-12.8 and ASTM E2190 for durability, and structural sizing typically follows CAN/CGSB-12.20 or ASTM E1300, whichever the project’s engineer specifies. Which standard governs a given order is the customer’s call. Our part is producing the units consistently.
BC’s Energy Step Code and the province’s Energy Efficiency Standards Regulation have pushed U-value and SHGC into most specification conversations. Centre-of-glass values describe the glass alone, and a whole-window rating also depends on the frame, so the two should not be compared directly. Our resource library holds spec sheets for our insulated glass, which is the place to start when you build an order.
Manufactured on Automated Lines, Delivered on Our Own Trucks
Three fully automated sealed unit machines run in our Langley facility, and we clean both thoroughly every day before production starts. That routine keeps optical quality and cavity cleanliness consistent from the first unit of a run to the last. Automation and a lean team also keep our costs down, which is how we offer our best pricing to our highest-volume customers.
Our own fleet delivers throughout the Lower Mainland and beyond, so your glass never passes to a third-party carrier. Several of our trucks carry cranes, and the fleet as a whole runs larger than most, making our trucks ideal for delivering to big customer parking lots and large commercial job sites rather than residential neighbourhoods. Our customer harp racks let your crew unload in batches instead of digging through a buried A-frame for the piece they need.
Certified to Standards That Matter
We hold IGCC certification for our insulating glass and SGCC certification for our safety glazing. IGCC certification means an independent body puts our units through periodic accelerated laboratory testing and makes unannounced visits to inspect our facility. Beyond that, we are members of the Fenestration Association of BC, and the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC has recognized our safety program.
Built for BC’s Climate
We manufacture window and door glass for conditions that vary widely across the province. Coastal moisture makes edge-seal durability and frame drainage a real concern on the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, while Interior and northern winters put more weight on low U-value assemblies and warm-edge spacers. Summer solar exposure adds SHGC and shading into the mix on the other side of the year. Spacer system, gas fill, coating, and pane thickness are choices our customers make for each project before they order.
Why Volume Buyers Choose PFG Glass
Cutting, tempering, laminating, IGU assembly, and delivery all happen under our roof, so a large order does not hinge on subcontractors lining up in sequence. After more than three decades in Langley, we have the capacity to move big orders through our lines efficiently.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between double- and triple-pane glass?
Double-pane, or dual-glazed, glass uses two panes separated by one sealed cavity. Triple-pane glass adds a third pane and a second cavity for extra thermal performance. We manufacture both, and your project’s energy model decides which one it needs.
Can you supply tempered or laminated safety glass for door and window panels?
Yes. Both are part of our range. Which panels need safety glazing, and which classification applies, depends on the application and the local code, so confirm that before you order.
Can you match an existing window or a sample?
No. We do not reproduce glass from an existing window or a sample. Your team works out the thickness, coating, tint, and grid you need, and we manufacture to the order you place.
What information do you need to provide a quote?
Dimensions, quantities, overall thickness, pane makeup, coating type and surface, spacer and gas fill, safety treatment, and any grid or shape requirements let us quote accurately. Pricing improves with volume, so the quantities on your order matter as much as the dimensions.
